App zum Doc

Two audiences, one calm communication channel.

Doctors and their teams (our customers) and patients (the users of the app) meet on a single, structured channel. Every request — appointment, prescription, referral, image finding — is end-to-end encrypted between the practice key pair and the patient. iOS, Android and modern browsers. Telephony, mail, walk-ins and app usage land in one practice dashboard instead of five.

More time for the essentials

01

Two audiences, one product

We split the audience cleanly: doctors and their teams are the customers — they own the practice key pair and the dashboard. Patients are the users — they install the App zum Doc, scan a QR code at the practice and are paired. No accounts mixed, no confusion about who owns what.

02

End-to-end encrypted by construction

Every practice has its own public key. The patient encrypts each message with their private key and the practice public key, and vice versa. We host private and fully end-to-end encrypted data — cryptographically we cannot read it, so privacy is enforced by the math, not by a privacy policy.

03

Appointment requests

Practices generate their own structured request forms. Patient requests arrive sorted at the practice; confirmations and follow-up questions go back as push notifications. The practice phone is freed up for what really needs a voice.

04

Prescriptions & referrals

A built-in PZN scanner reads the barcode on the medication packaging — orders arrive unambiguous and structured. Proactive hints (e.g. "Your prescription will be ready tomorrow at 11:00 at reception") can be attached to the request itself.

05

One dashboard for every input stream (in development)

In development — not yet released. The plan: telephony, mail, direct contact and app usage bundled into one practice dashboard, so the team works one queue instead of switching between phone notes, fax pile, reception clipboard and a separate inbox. The App-zum-Doc channel itself is live today; unifying the other streams is on the roadmap.

06

iOS, Android, modern browsers

Patients reach the practice from the platform they already trust — App Store, Play Store or any modern browser. No app-store dead-end for older patients, no extra hardware in the practice, automatic updates.

07

Image findings

Patients send image findings end-to-end encrypted to the practice — useful for follow-up care, saving the appointment and easing pressure on the waiting room.

08

Practice information at a glance

Phone number, route guidance, services, opening hours, holiday cover and any other relevant note — bundled in the practice entry and editable by the team in seconds, day by day.

09

Pharmacy emergency service

In the "Services" area, patients find the nearest on-call pharmacy, emergency medical hotlines and other useful numbers — well taken care of in every situation.

10

Open source, where it matters

Core components are open-source. Practices and their IT partners can audit how encryption, message routing and key handling actually work — no black box, no vendor lock-in on the protocol.

11

Hosted where you want it (on request)

Available on request. By default, App zum Doc runs on our shared infrastructure in a certified German data centre. On-premise in your practice or deployment with a German hoster of your choice is available on request — talk to us about scope and timeline. The protocol stays the same in every case.

10+ years in the market

We have been delivering this solution for over a decade — long enough for practices to have built workflows around it, short enough to still ship rapidly. Patient acceptance is high; we generate continuous feedback from real practices and roll changes back into the product.
